A 52-year-old Ewing man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday evening (June 7) on Hwy. WW at Black Hawk Lane in Dittmer that left him injured, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4:50 p.m., the man was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango north on the highway and ran off the left side of the road, where the pickup struck a culvert, the report said.
He was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
The man was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The pickup was totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the man at 5:35 p.m. at the hospital. His name will not be published unless charges are filed, and as of today (June 9), none had been filed.
