A Eureka woman and a Leslie woman were hurt this morning (July 13) in a three-vehicle accident on I-44 east of Lewis Road in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 6:28 a.m., Christine A. Seeley, 51, of Eureka was driving a 2016 Kia Forte east on I-44 and slowed for traffic ahead, and a driver following behind in an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Impala failed to slow and struck the rear of the Forte, the report said.
After that collision, the Forte struck the median, and another vehicle – an eastbound 2014 Chevrolet Equinox – struck the rear of the Forte, which then overturned, according to the report.
Jacob M. Utz, 18, of Union was driving the Impala, and Jerica L. Moore, 29, of St. Clair was driving the Equinox. No injuries were reported for them.
However, Seeley, and a passenger in the Impala – Braetyn M. Larmi, 18, of Leslie – were moderately injured, the report said.
Seeley was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said this afternoon.
Larmi was taken by ambulance to SSM St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, and she, too, was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said this afternoon.
