A driver was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon, July 2, in two-vehicle crash at East Gannon Drive and Hwy. A in Festus, Festus Police Chief Doug Wendel said.
At 12:15 p.m., someone was driving a Ford Mustang and turned left from East Gannon Drive onto Hwy. A into the path of a GMC Denali pickup. The truck struck the Mustang on the driver’s side, causing the Mustang to travel off the north side of Hwy. A and down an embankment, Wendel said.
He said the driver of the Mustang was transported by helicopter to a St. Louis-area hospital. He did not know if the driver of the pickup was injured.
Wendel did not provide the drivers’ names, genders, ages or hometowns.
