A House Springs woman and a Fenton man were hurt Wednesday morning (July 31) in a one-car accident on Hwy. W north of Boemler Road in Hoene Springs, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:09 a.m., Chloe R. Daugherty, 20, was driving a 2017 Toyota Yaris north on the highway, and after she fell asleep at the wheel, the car ran off the left side of the road, struck a traffic sign and overturned into a culvert, the report said.
Daugherty and a passenger in the car – La’Darius D. Reed, 20, of Fenton – were both moderately injured and taken by a Eureka Fire Protection District ambulance to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, according to the report.
Reed was transferred for another medical facility, and Daugherty was treated and released, a St. Clare spokeswoman said.
Daugherty and Reed were not wearing seat belts, the report said.
