Linda Menzel, 71, of Dittmer was injured at about 6:15 p.m. March 5 in a four-vehicle accident on Hwy. 109 near City Hall Drive, Eureka Police reported.

Menzel, who was driving a southbound 2007 Ford Freestyle, was stopped on the highway at The Legends Parkway and was rear-ended by a 2015 Chrysler 200 driven by Terry Moreland, 26, of Eureka, who couldn’t stop as he approached because a spray bottle rolled under his brake pedal, the report said.

That collision caused the Ford to hit a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, which then hit a 2016 Dodge Caravan, according to the report.

Humberto Colin Ruiz, 47, of House Springs was driving the Ford, and Lisa Shade, 52, of Pacific was driving the Dodge. Ernesto Maldonado Tovar, 41, was a passenger in the pickup, the report said.

Menzel told authorities she had pain in her arms and legs, and she had minor abrasions on her arms and legs. She was transported to an area hospital, according to the report.

No injuries reported for Moreland, Ruiz, Shade or Tovar. Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, the report said.

The Ford had front and rear damage, and the Chrysler sustained front-end damage. The Chevrolet had some front-end and rear damage, and the Dodge had some rear-end damage, the report said.
