Seven people, including four children, were injured May 7 in a head-on accident on Hwy. B south of Hwy. C in the Morse Mill area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred at about 7:15 p.m., when Taylor A. Dillow, 19, of Eureka was driving a 2005 Subaru Baja north on Hwy. B and after braking, lost control of the vehicle, which began to skid, crossed the center line and struck the front of a southbound 2018 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Cathleen F. Andrescavage, 40, of Festus.
Dillow and a passenger in the Baja – a 12-year-old House Springs girl – were seriously injured. Dillow was taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was listed in satisfactory condition on Monday, May 8. The girl was taken by Air Evac Helicopter to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
No information about her condition was available today, May 10.
Andrescavage and four passengers in the Suburban all were moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. All the passengers were from Festus and included Andrew B. Andrescavage, 45; a 3-year-old boy; an 11-year-old boy; and a 14-year-old boy.
No information about conditions for Cathleen Andrescavage and her passengers was available today.
The highway patrol did not release the names of the children involved in the crash because they are juveniles.
All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
