A Desloge man was hurt Sunday night (Sept. 6) when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding on a private road in the Lake Hanna area in St. Francois County struck another ATV a De Soto teenager was riding, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At 7:44 p.m., Jeremiah E. Pratt, 26, of Desloge was riding a 2003 Yamaha Predator four-wheeler east on the road, “traveling too fast for the road conditions,” and the vehicle struck a westbound 2006 Polaris Hawkeye four-wheeler that Austin L. Thebeau, 17, of De Soto was riding, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Thebeau. However, Pratt was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
Neither Pratt nor Thebeau was wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
The Yamaha four-wheeler had minor damage, and the Polaris four-wheeler was moderately damaged, the report said.
