A De Soto woman and man were seriously hurt Thursday evening (Dec. 15) in a two-vehicle accident on Fountain City Road north of Walker Hill Road in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 5:40 p.m., James A. Maxwell, 27, of De Soto was driving a 2007 Ford Ranger east on Fountain City Road, and the pickup crossed the center line and struck a westbound minivan head on, the report said.
Penny N. Davis, 40, of De Soto was driving the minivan, a 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette. Both she and a passenger in the van – Matthew N. Davis, 42, of De Soto – were seriously hurt and taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said.
This afternoon (Dec. 16), Penny Davis was listed in serious condition and Matthew Davis in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
No injuries were reported for Maxwell.
None of those involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
