Nancy R. Johnston, 55, of De Soto was hurt Thursday evening (Aug. 8) in a two-vehicle accident on I-55 south of Hwy. M near Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6 p.m., Kodie J. McDowell, 22, of House Springs was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Passat south on the interstate and failed to stop in time for slowing traffic ahead, and the front of the car struck the rear of a 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Johnston.
No injuries were reported for McDowell.
Johnston, though, was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
However, Mercy South had no information about her, a hospital spokesman said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Passat was extensively damaged, and the Jeep was moderately damaged, the report said.
