Ashlyn T. Gerst, 19, of De Soto was injured March 4 in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 67 and Papin Road north of Valles Mines, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 9:37 p.m., Gerst, in a westbound 2007 Toyota Scion, had been stopped on Papin Road and then proceeded forward across the highway, but she pulled into the path of a northbound 2008 Ford Fusion, and the front of the Fusion struck the back left side of the Scion, the report said.
Kenady B. Lyons, 26, of Catawissa was driving the Fusion. No injuries were reported for her.
Gerst, however, was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The two cars were totaled, the report said.
