Dustin R. Bays, 17, of De Soto was hurt Wednesday afternoon while he was chasing his vehicle and ran onto Fountain City Road in the De Soto area and into the path of a moving SUV, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 12:45 p.m., Bays noticed his vehicle rolling out of his driveway at Fountain City and Fountain Oaks roads and while chasing after it, stepped out on Fountain City Road and into the front left side of an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, said Cpl. Juston Wheetley of the Highway Patrol.
Carla M. Pomirko, 39, of De Soto was driving the Equinox. No injuries were reported for her.
Bays sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Valle Ambulance to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, but a hospital spokeswoman said today (April 23) that she had no information about him.
Pomirko was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The Equinox sustained minor damage, the report said.
