motorcycle crash patrol patch

A 50-year-old De Soto man was injured in a crash Sept. 29 on Hwy. 67 at Buck Creek Road southwest of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 4:36 p.m., Nicholas C. Torpea, 23, of Arnold was driving east in a 2020 Chevrolet Sonic when he tried to cross the southbound lane, into the path of Nathan C. Holst on a southbound 2019 Harley Davidson FLHTK, causing Holst to strike the front of the Chevrolet, the report said.

Holst was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

According to the report, Holst was wearing a state-approved safety helmet, and Torpea was not wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were moderately damaged, the report said.
