A De Soto man was hurt early Labor Day (Sept. 7) when he was jogging on Fountain City Road in the De Soto area and an unknown vehicle struck him, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:40 a.m., Jacob D. Shook, 27, of De Soto was jogging in the west lane of the road, and the front right side of a westbound vehicle struck the man from behind, throwing him off the north side of the road. The vehicle then fled the scene, the report said.
Shook was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
