Keith W. Bass, 46, of De Soto died Wednesday morning, July 27, the day after he was injured in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 100 and Hwy. T in Franklin County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, Wavely E. Minton, 62, of Poplar Bluff was driving a 2018 Dodge Caravan east on Hwy. 100, and Todd J. Pollock, 35, of Washington, Mo., driving a westbound 2017 Ford F150 pickup, reportedly pulled into the path of the van, and the front of it struck the left side of the pickup, the report said.

After that collision, the van ran off the right side of the road and struck a pole, and the pickup overturned onto its side, according to the report.

Bass, who was a passenger in the van, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington, where he was pronounced dead at 6:53 a.m. Wednesday, the report said.

Minton and Pollock were moderately injured, as were two other passengers in the van – Matthew S. Nichols, 35, Herculaneum and Zachary T. Branham, 30, of Park Hills – and one passenger in the pickup – Anne M. Pollock, 36, of Washington. Those five were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, according to the report.

Minton and Todd Pollock were treated and released, and Nichols, Branham and Anne Pollock were listed in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokesperson said today, July 28.
