motorcycle crash

A 39-year-old De Soto man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a motorcycle crash on the ramp from southbound Hwy. 21 to Old Hwy. 21. He also was injured in the accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 7:20 p.m., the man was riding a southbound 2000 Harley-Davidson FLSTC and while trying to change lanes, the motorcycle began skidding and ran off the right side of the road before returning to the road and then partially overturning, ejecting him, the report said.

The man was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in satisfactory condition on Thursday (Sept. 16), a hospital spokesman said.

The motorcycle was moderately damaged.

The highway patrol arrested the man at 9:27 p.m. at the hospital for DWI and careless and imprudent driving.

His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this morning (Sept. 17), none had been filed.
