A Potosi man was hurt in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 27) on Hwy. P near Lucas Drive in Washington County. A De Soto man was driving and was not hurt, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:15 p.m., John E. Burke, 52, of De Soto was driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee east on Hwy. P, and the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck several mailboxes and trees, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Burke, but a passenger in the Grand Cherokee – John T. McMillen, 53, of Potosi – was moderately hurt and taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, according to the report.
Both men were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The vehicle was extensively damaged, the report said.
