A House Springs man was arrested Monday afternoon, Aug. 28, following a two-car accident on I-55 north of Butler Hill Road in south St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3 p.m., Ryan A. Grivetti, 24, of St. Clair was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze north on the interstate when he struck the rear of a northbound 2009 Lexus LS driven by Daniel A. Jones, 44, of House Springs, and then the Cruze ran off the left side of the road and struck a concrete barrier, the report said.
Grivetti was seriously injured and taken by Mehlville Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, and Jones sustained minor injuries and was taken by a state trooper to the same hospital, according to the report.
Both men were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Jones was arrested at 3:46 p.m. on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court stemming from a misdemeanor fourth-degree assault charge filed in June, the report said.
According to the report, Jones was wearing a seat belt and Grivetti was not, and both vehicles were totaled.
