A Crystal City resident was one of three women who were hurt in a two-vehicle traffic accident Saturday afternoon (Nov. 14) on Hwy. 61 in St. Mary in Ste. Genevieve County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Charlotte Berry, 58, of St. Mary was driving a 2005 Ford Freestar north on Hwy. 61 north of Sycamore Street at 3:55 p.m. when she lost control due to the heavy rain and water covering the road. Her vehicle crossed the center line and hit a southbound 2009 Hyundai Sonata driven by Angela Sanders, 47, of St. Mary.
Both drivers sustained moderate injuries. Berry was taken by Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve, the report said. Sanders was taken by car to the same hospital, as was a passenger in her Hyundai, Raychel Taylor, 27, of Crystal City, who sustained minor injuries.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Ford had extensive damage while the Hyundai was totaled.
