Former Fox C-6 School District administrator Jamie Critchlow has been charged with felony DWI following an accident on Monday (May 30) at I-55 and Richardson Road in Arnold.

It is his fourth DWI charge.

Critchlow, 41, of Arnold also was charged today (June 2) with misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident in connection with the Memorial Day incident, the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office reports.

At 11:32 a.m., Arnold Police got a call that Critchlow, driving a tan 2001 Toyota Tundra, had struck a garage door at his home in the 3000 block of Strawberry Ridge Drive, the probable-cause statement said.

During the investigation, officers learned that a short time earlier, Critchlow allegedly had struck another vehicle while exiting I-55 to Richardson Road and left the scene of the accident, the report said.

The officer who responded to Critchlow’s home said he had watery, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and “had difficulty maintaining his balance and almost fell to the ground multiple times,” according to the report.

Critchlow refused to take sobriety field tests and wouldn’t give a breath sample, the report said.

Since Critchlow had three previous DWI offenses, this one is a felony, court papers show.

Critchlow previously pleaded guilty to DWI stemming from a January 2007 incident in Smith County, Texas, to another one in July 2014 in Iron County and to a third DWI that occurred in January 2015 in Arnold.

The latest DWI charge is a class C felony punishable by up to seven years in prison.

The leaving the scene charge is a class A misdemeanor that carries a penalty up to one year in jail.

Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Forrest Wegge said at about 2 p.m. today that he didn’t think Critchlow had been taken into custody yet.
