A St. Clair teenager was hurt in a two-vehicle traffic accident today, June 4, in Franklin County. A Festus man who also was involved in the crash was not injured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Charles Vollmer, 70, of Festus was driving east on Hwy. 30 west of Pond Ford Road east of St. Clair at 12:45 p.m. when he came to a stop in traffic and his 2019 GMC Sierra was rear-ended by a 2004 Hyundai Elantra driven by Tristen Rodrigue, 18, of St. Clair.

The patrol report made no mention of an injury to Vollmer, but Rodrigue suffered moderate injuries and he was taken by St. Clair Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington.

An update on his condition was not available.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said.

Vollmer’s Sierra had moderate damage while the Hyundai was totaled, according to the report.
