Two Cedar Hill men were hurt Friday morning (Feb. 8) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 in Jefferson County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 11:20 a.m., Justin M. Askins, 25, of Cedar Hill was driving a 2016 Freightliner west on Hwy. 30 and slowed to make a turn, and John W. Wagner, 20, of Lonedell, driving a westbound Chevrolet C4500 truck, failed to stop, and the front of the truck struck the rear of the big rig, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Wagner.

However, Askins and a passenger in the big rig – Robert A. Darroch, 44, of Cedar Hill – were moderately hurt, the report said.

Askins was taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, and Darroch was taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South, according to the report.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The Freightliner had minor damage, and the Chevrolet was moderately damaged, the report said.
