A Catawissa man was killed and a Richwoods woman was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle accident that happened at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 27) on Hwy. HH just south of Wideman Road in Franklin County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Max R. Ledbetter, 21, of Catawissa was driving a 1994 Mazda MX3 south on Hwy. HH in the northbound lane and struck a northbound 2001 Jeep Cherokee head-on, the report said.
Diane R. Lanier, 60, of Richwoods was driving the Jeep. She sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said this morning (Sept. 29).
Ledbetter was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seat belt, and Lanier was wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
