Mackenzie F. Phares, 17, of Barnhart was hurt Thursday morning (March 5) in a one-car accident on Metropolitan Boulevard north of Bayberry Lane in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:15 a.m., Phares was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion north on Metropolitan and ran off the right side of the road, but then she overcorrected, causing the car to cross the center of the road and off the left side, where it overturned and struck a culvert, the report said.
Phares was moderately hurt and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, the report said.
