Arnold Police will seek charges against a 50-year-old Barnhart man who allegedly was riding a stolen motorcycle that was involved in an accident at Telegraph and Arnold Tenbrook roads. The man was injured in the crash, authorities reported.

At about 4:30 p.m. July 24, a 61-year-old St. Louis woman was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu and while turning from Telegraph onto Arnold Tenbrook, she struck a 1983 Honda Shadow 750 the Barnhart man was riding. The man, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy South Hospital in south St. Louis County with minor injuries, the report said.

Officers discovered the motorcycle had been reported stolen on May 8 in Festus. The motorcycle was significantly damaged in the crash, according to the report.

The man already was wanted on warrants from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for tampering and stealing and from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for non-support, police reported.

Arnold Police will seek a tampering charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the department informed the other law enforcement agencies about the incident, Maj. Clinton Wooldridge said.

No injuries were reported for the woman driving the Malibu, which had minor damage, according to the report.
