Jeanne M. Gorges, 66, of Arnold was injured late Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 26) in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 61-67 and Miller Road in Imperial just south of Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4:30 p.m., Gorges was driving an eastbound 2019 Ford Escape and while trying to turn from Miller Road onto northbound Hwy. 61-67, she reportedly failed to yield to a 2015 Subaru WRX headed south on the highway and driven by Caleb D. Caighlan, 25, of Arnold, who tried to avoid the Escape. However, the right side of the Subaru struck the front left side of the Escape, and then both vehicles began to spin, and the rear left side of the Escape struck the right side of the Subaru, which ran off the left side of the road, where it struck a curb and a concrete block, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Caighlan.
Gorges was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The two vehicles were totaled, the report said.
