A 31-year-old Arnold woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and possessing marijuana following a two-vehicle Wednesday evening (Sept. 1) on I-270 north of I-44 in St. Louis County. The woman was injured in the wreck, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:26 p.m., the woman was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue and while merging onto northbound I-270 from I-44, she reportedly failed to keep a proper lookout, and the front of the SUV struck the rear of a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was broken down and parked on the right shoulder of I-270, the report said.
There was no driver with the Trailblazer at the time of the accident, according to the report.
The woman who was driving the Rogue was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the woman at 5:55 p.m. at the hospital.
Her name will not be published unless charges are filed against her, and as of this morning (Sept. 3), none had been filed.
