A 62-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested in Arnold for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after she allegedly caused an accident on Hwy. 141 and tried to hide in a nearby parking lot after leaving the scene of the accident. The accident happened at 7:53 p.m. Nov. 16, Arnold Police reported.
The woman was driving a 2012 Kia Forte south on Hwy. 141, where she attempted to turn onto Ridge Road in front of a 1998 Chevrolet Prizm, which hit the Kia. No one was injured in the accident, the report said.
After the accident, the St. Louis woman allegedly drove to the Drury Inn and Suites parking lot, 3800 Hwy. 141. Officers found her in the Prizm parked next to a dumpster on the side of the hotel, and when they made contact with her, they allegedly smelled alcohol on her breath, according to the report.
She reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. She was transported to the Police Station, where she was booked, issued summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for DWI, leaving the second of an accident and failure to yield the right of way and then released to a sober driver, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
