An Arnold man was killed and a woman from Arkansas was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon (Jan. 8) on Hwy. 61-67 south of Arnold.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Margaret Davis, 59, of Paragould, Ark., was driving a 1992 GMC RV2 south in the left lane of Hwy. 61-67 south of Miller Road at 4:10 p.m. when her car was struck by a northbound 2015 Nissan Versa driven by Nedzad Pacariz, 21, of Arnold, who was driving in the left lane and crossed over the center line. The Nissan hit the GMC head-on, the report said.
Davis sustained serious injuries and was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, said the report, which also indicated that Pacariz was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:44 p.m. by paramedics with Rock Township Ambulance.
Davis was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, the report said. Both vehicles were totaled.
