Paul Kaufman, 83, of Arnold was injured Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 23) in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 30 and La Kenny Lane in unincorporated Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At about 2:30 p.m., Kaufman was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 west on Hwy. 30 and while attempting to turn left onto eastbound Hwy. 30, he allegedly failed to yield to an eastbound 2012 Ford F-150 pickup, and the front of the car struck the front of the pickup, the report said.
Tyler L. Breitenstein, 29, of St. Louis was driving the pickup. No injuries were reported for him.
Kaufman was moderately injured and transported by Fenton Fire to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokesman said Thursday afternoon (Dec. 24).
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, and the pickup was moderately damaged, the report said.
