An Arnold man was hurt late Saturday morning (Oct. 29) in a boating accident on the Lake of the Ozarks.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Lawrence Dennis. 71, of St. Louis was driving a 2005 Triton bass boat at the 5.5 mile marker of the Gravois arm of the Lake of the Ozarks near Gravois Mills at 11:10 a.m. when his boat hit the rear port side of a 1998 Viper bass boat driven by Dennis Drier, 71, of Wildwood, and an passenger in Drier’s boat, Ronald Heffkamp, 73, of Arnold.
Heffkamp sustained moderate injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, the report said. Neither Dennis nor Drier were reported hurt.
An update on Heffkamp’s condition was not available.
Dennis and Drier both were wearing safety vests, the report said, but Heffkamp was not. The Viper was damaged moderately while the Triton had minor damage.
