An Arnold man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a three-vehicle traffic accident in which a 19-year-old Arnold woman was hurt early Saturday, Sept. 17, on Hwy. 30 at LaKenny Lane in the Fenton area of Jefferson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the 59-year-old Arnold man was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado west on Hwy. 30 at 9:15 a.m. and was attempting to turn left onto LaKenny Lane but failed to yield to an eastbound 2008 Mercedes CLS driven by Chad Mask, 20, of Arnold. The Mercedes struck the right side of the Silverado. The Silverado spun and the rear of the pickup hit the right front of a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado, which was northbound on LaKenny.

The patrol report made no mention of an injury to any of the three drivers, but a passenger in the Mercedes, Alexis Stanfill, 19, of Arnold suffered moderate injuries and she was taken by North Jefferson Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.

An update on her condition was not available.

The driver of the Silverado was arrested by Highway Patrol officers on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He will not be named unless he is charged with a crime by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said.

The Mercedes and the Silverado were totaled while the Colorado had moderate damage, according to the report.
