A man and a woman from Arnold were seriously injured in an accident involving four motorcycles at Hwy. 19 and Ebenezer Road in Montgomery County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:55 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, four motorcycles were traveling together and headed north on the highway when Daniel D. Mcauley, 39, of Arnold, riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson, lost control and rolled over. Austin J. Hanabarger, 33, of Sterling, Ill., riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson, struck the other motorcycle and rolled, and all the riders on both vehicles were ejected. Victor J. Bonugli, 38, riding a 1998 Harley and an unknown rider on a 2007 Harley traveled off the right side of the road to avoid the collision, the report said.
Mcauley and his passenger, Ashley T. Madigan, 35, of Arnold, were seriously injured. Hanabarger was moderately injured and his passenger, Jordan T. Keene, 28, of Troy, was seriously injured. The injured riders and passengers were transported by ambulance to University Hospital, the report said.
According to the report, Bonugli sustained minor injuries and turned down medical treatment at the scene of the crash.
None of the injured riders or passengers were wearing helmets, or at least not Department of Transportation-approved ones, the patrol reported.
All four bikes sustained minor damage, the report said.
