A De Soto man and a Farmington man were injured Friday afternoon, Oct. 20, in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 67 and Flucom Road south of Olympian Village, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 2:25 p.m., Andrew J. Tonas, 87, of De Soto was driving a southbound 2023 Chevrolet Equinox and while trying to turn left from Hwy. 67 onto Flucom Road, pulled into the path of a northbound 2006 Honda Accord, and the front right side of the Equinox struck the front left side of the Accord. Daniel A. Jones, 40, of Farmington was driving the Accord, the report said.

Jones was moderately injured, and Tonas sustained minor injuries, and both were taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, according to the report.

The two men were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Accord was totaled, and the Equinox was extensively damaged, the report said.
