A boy and a woman, both of Imperial, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Hwy. M and Metropolitan Boulevard in Barnhart late Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 29, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4:20 p.m., Jonathan M. Baugh, 32, of Crystal City was driving an eastbound 2022 Kia KS and allegedly ran a red light, striking the left side of a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Andrea F. Shewcraft, 40, the report said.
Shewcraft was seriously injured, and a passenger in the vehicle – a 7-year-old Imperial boy – sustained minor injuries. Both were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Shewcraft was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
No information about the boy’s condition was available.
According to the report, both drivers and the boy were wearing seat belts, and the vehicles were totaled.
The patrol did not release the 7-year-old’s name because he is a juvenile.
