An Arnold woman and an Illinois man were seriously injured Monday evening, Sept. 4, in a one-car accident on I-55 north of Imperial Main Street, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:19 p.m., Mark A. Firestine, 33, of Columbia, Ill., was driving a 2004 Lincoln Town Car north on the interstate when he allegedly lost control of the car, which began sliding and struck a concrete median, the report said.
Firestine and a passenger – Alexis R. McGeehan, 29, of Arnold – were seriously injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County where they were listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday, Sept. 5, a hospital spokesperson said.
According to the report, Firestine and McGeehan both were wearing seat belts, and the Lincoln was totaled.
