A 29-year-old High Ridge man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after a two-car accident Tuesday, Oct. 11, on Schumacher Road south of Hwy. 30 in High Ridge, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
He was arrested at about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday after being transported to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County because of injuries he sustained in the accident, the report said.
The arrested driver’s name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this afternoon, Oct. 12, none had been filed.
At about 2:25 p.m., the man was driving north in a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta when he crossed the center line of the road, striking a southbound 2020 Chevrolet Trax driven by Alexander H. Watkins, 33, of Kansas City, the report said.
The High Ridge man was moderately injured and taken by North Jefferson County ambulance to Mercy Hospital South, where he was listed in good condition as of this afternoon, a hospital spokesman said.
No injuries were reported for Watkins.
