Joy Behar was disappointed in Mark Cuban, whom she claims to like in general, for his recent appearance alongside Donald Trump in support of his prescription drugs website. Cuban, who champions reduced-price medications through his own company, Cost Plus, joined Trump at the White House for a TrumpRx event, and Behar had some choice words for him on Tuesday’s (May 19) episode of The View.

“First of all, you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas,” Behar said. “Mark Cuban. I’ve always liked him, but this is a mistake. And once Trump puts his name on prescriptions, we’re all gonna die.”

Behar then went on to list out examples of Trump’s branding failures of the past, saying, “He put his name on the Trump shuttle, the Trump vodka, the Trump University, Trump Hotel, and my favorite, the casinos that all went bankrupt… Don’t go there, Mark.”

Cuban did not receive her harshest words of the “Hot Topic” discussion, though; she reserved those for her cohosts who shared their support for the initiative and Cuban’s involvement.

First, Alyssa Farah Griffin rejected Behar’s analysis, saying, “The medication that I had to take for IVF is a 10th of the price on TrumpRx. I don’t, whatever, it’s tacky that his name is on it. Mark Cuban has dedicated his life to bringing down prescription drug costs. The average family, one-third of Americans, cut back on essential foods and utilities to be able to cover their prescription drug costs. You’re not going to convince me that just because Trump’s involved, we should be like, ‘Screw it.'”

To that, Behar argued that Trump is somehow going to make a “profit” off of the effort, which Sunny Hostin called, “Correct.”

Hostin then argued, “I agree with you, Joy. He is a failed businessman, and if you heard what he said, he said, ‘We both want to make people wealthy.'” Then, when Griffin challenged, “So I should pay 10 times more?” Hostin exclaimed, “He seemed to me that there’s something in it for him. This is not a well-intentioned president.”

Sara Haines agreed with Griffin, saying, ” We’re the wealthiest country, and we pay the most for drugs. The people that are literally suffering illnesses and cannot pay for their medicine, I can’t think of a sicker business. Bring down the prices, and if you’re going to get results on this, call it Donald Trump Medicine. I don’t care what you call it.”

Behar then argued that countries across the world have better public healthcare because of socialized medicine, and both Haines and Griffin argued back. At that, Behar declared, sharply, “You are so naive, the two of you.” Ouch.
