There are deer, dear: St. Andrew’s at Francis Place offers quality care in peaceful setting

The St. Andrew’s at Francis Place long-term care facility in Eureka stands apart from other senior living communities because it is both faith-based and nonprofit, marketing director Vera Williams said.

She said the facility has a chapel, where masses are held on a regular schedule.

“In addition, something that sets us apart is our beautiful scenic surroundings,” she said. “It's not unusual to see deer roaming around outside.”

Williams said the scenic setting is soothing for residents.

“We have a beautifully landscaped courtyard,” she said. “That's somewhere our residents love to sit.”

In 2018, the facility underwent an $8 million renovation, Williams said.

“The rooms are a lot larger,” she said. “They’re more boutique or a hotel style. It makes it more comfortable for the residents. We offer larger bathrooms, no-step showers and we have more private suites.”

The renovation added an activity center and a new dining area.

Williams said staff members are proud that “the majority of our referrals come from word of mouth – either from residents who were here or from family members.”

She said the facility has 106 beds and offers long-term care, skilled nursing care, Medicare rehabilitation and memory care.

According to its website, St. Andrew’s at Francis Place, 300 Forby Road, offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathologists and respiratory therapy.
