Leader Holiday Dinner chef hat

Tickets are on sale now for the sixth annual Leader Holiday Dinner, set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the Student Center at Jefferson College in Hillsboro.

All the dishes will be prepared from recipes submitted by Leader readers to the Holiday Recipe Contest, and will be served by students and staff from the college’s culinary program. Recipes are still being accepted in five categories: appetizers, soup, salad, side dish and dessert.

The six-course dinner will include musical entertainment, live cooking demonstrations, a recipe book and a chance to vote for the overall grand prize winner, who will receive $250.

Tickets are $25. New this year is a special VIP ticket for $35, which includes a wine and cheese reception from 6-6:30 p.m. in the Viking Room Annex.

The winning recipes will be published in a special Holiday Gift Guide in the Nov. 21 issue of the Leader.

Proceeds from the event go to the Jefferson College Foundation to help defray the cost of sending culinary students to competitions.
