The Jefferson Foundation awarded the following grants.
■ St. Louis Counseling: $325,000 total: $200,000 to provide mental health counseling and presentations in Jefferson County parochial and public schools; $125,000 to provide counseling services for youth and families at the agency’s Herculaneum office.
■ Upward Smiles Inc.: $150,000 to support the expansion of sedation services that would serve an additional 240 children per year.
■ Aging Ahead: $121,235.40 to support the expansion of the Meals on Wheels program in Jefferson County.
■ OATS Inc.: $ 100,000 to provide program support for the JeffCo Express public transportation program.
■ Jefferson County Community Partnership: $90,000 to provide program support for the Children and Families Safe program.
■ Our Little Haven: $65,000 to support the medical case management, foster care case management and keystone mental health services programs in Jefferson County.
■ Jefferson College Foundation Inc.: $64,000 total: $54,000 to provide scholarships to 18 students entering health occupation programs; $10,000 to purchase food and personal items for the agency’s food pantry.
■ Presbyterian’s Homes and Services: $60,000 to support the Family Solutions for Kids program in Jefferson County.
■ Peace Pantry: $60,000 total: $50,000 to purchase a refrigerated box truck that will be used to pick up donated food; $10,000 to purchase food and hygiene items for the food pantry.
■ Jefferson County Family YMCA: $56,205 to renovate the women’s locker room and to add a universal locker room to the agency’s facility.
■ Great Circle: $55,000 to support the Incredible Years Parent Education program for 76 families in Jefferson County.
■ Jefferson County Health Department: $55,000 to provide support for substance abuse prevention programs and to develop youth leaders.
■ Disability Resource Association Inc.: $52,000 total: $30,000 to provide program support for the in-home aide and home modification programs; $22,000 to purchase supplies for the home modification program and to replace the flooring in the agency’s lobby.
■ ALIVE: $50,000 to support counseling services, transportation services and the Nights of Safety program for Jefferson County victims of domestic violence.
■ Emmanuel Baptist Church Food Pantry: $50,000 to purchase a refrigerated box truck that will be used to pick up donated food.
■ Feed My People: $50,000 total: $40,000 to repair the agency’s parking lot to make it safer for clients and volunteers; $10,000 to purchase food and personal hygiene items and to provide direct financial assistance.
■ Fox C-6 School District: $50,000 to provide school-based counseling services.
■ National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse-St. Louis: $50,000 to expand substance abuse prevention programs in local school districts and substance abuse counseling services for teenagers and adults.
■ The Curators of the University of Missouri: $45,857 to provide psychological evaluation for 24 high-risk youth in Jefferson County.
■ Center for Hearing and Speech: $40,000 to provide hearing and screening services at Jefferson County schools and to provide the full-service audiology program for Jefferson County residents.
■ Jefferson County Government: $40,000 to implement Project Lifesaver, which will assist first responders in locating and returning individuals to their families.
■ Ozark Food Pantry: $37,999 total: $27,999 to purchase a van that will be used to pick up donated food and hygiene supplies; $10,000 to purchase food and to assist with general operating expenses.
■ Pony Bird Inc.: $37,500 to support the agency in hiring a consultant that will assist in implementing its strategic plan.
■ Anthropedia Foundation: $35,000 to support the wellness center in the Northwest School District and to expand wellness services to other Jefferson County agencies.
■ St. Francis Community Services: $35,000 to expand the housing stability program to Jefferson County.
■ Living Faith Food Pantry: $32,000 to purchase a walk-in freezer to expand the agency’s capacity to store frozen food.
■ St. Louis Crisis Nursery: $30,000 to support the Family Empowerment program in Jefferson County.
■ Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired: $30,000 to conduct vision evaluation and to work directly with students who are blind, their teachers and therapists to create an individualized education program.
■ New Hope Fellowship: $25,423 to purchase a van for the agency’s afterschool meal program.
■ Eye Thrive: $25,000 to expand the agency’s eye exam and glasses program to Jefferson County schools.
■ Hand ’n Hand Pregnancy Help Care: $25,000 to assist the agency in providing clients with pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, educational materials and basic needs.
■ The Covering House: $25,000 to purchase food and to assist with general operating expenses at the long-term therapeutic home.
■ The Oasis Institute: $25,000 to expand health programming for older adults in Jefferson County.
■ Jeffco Subcontracting Inc. Sheltered Workshop: $22,500 to support the agency in completing a strategic plan.
■ Boy Scouts of America, Greater St. Louis Area Council: $20,975 to provide camp scholarships for Jefferson County Scouts.
■ C-6 Educational Foundation: $20,000 to purchase gift cards that will be used to provide students with necessary clothing, shoes and coats, and to support prevention programs, Special Olympics and the Special Needs Prom.
■ Easterseals Midwest: $20,000 to support the agency’s in-home care program that serves persons with developmental disabilities living in Jefferson County.
■ St. Pius X High School: $20,000 to purchase weight equipment for the agency’s new wellness center.
■ Court Appointed Special Advocates of Jefferson County: $15,736 to support the agency’s marketing efforts to reach and recruit potential CASA volunteers.
■ Babies Born Addicted: $15,000 to furnish a room at Mercy Hospital Jefferson with the necessary equipment and supplies to treat babies who are born addicted.
■ Brain Injury Association of Missouri: $15,000 to provide services to survivors of brain injury and their families in Jefferson County.
■ Dental Health Theatre Inc.: $15,000 to provide interactive health programs at Jefferson County schools.
■ Spirit Strides Inc.: $14,961 total: $10,000 to provide equine therapy scholarships and program support; $4,961 to purchase a laptop and for PATH therapeutic riding instructor certification.
■ Windsor C-1 Parents as Teachers: $14,650 to develop a discovery room for events, screenings and play area for children.
■ NextStep for Life: $12,547 to construct a walkway for staff and residents at the agency’s assisted living apartments.
■ Developmental Disability Advocates: $10,000 to support the agency in completing a strategic plan.
■ Giving Something Back To The Community: $10,000 to provide direct financial assistance to individuals and families in need.
■ Heart of Apostle Fellowship: $10,000 to provide program support for the toy and food distribution program and for the basic needs programs for teenagers and adults who are homeless.
■ Hillsboro Food Pantry: $10,000 to purchase food and to assist with general operating expenses.
■ Make-A-Wish Missouri and Kansas: $10,000 to grant a wish for Jefferson County children who have a critical illness.
■ Mothers Against Drunk Driving: $10,000 to support the victims services program in Jefferson County.
■ St. Louis Area Diaper Bank: $10,000 to support the diaper program in Jefferson County and increase diaper distribution from 37,500 to 63,500.
■ Sunrise School District: $6,561.66 to purchase water bottle filling stations and filters.
■ Deaf Empowerment Awareness Foundation Inc.: $6,453.57 to provide deaf awareness and sensitivity training to Jefferson County first responders.
■ Cystic Fibrosis Foundation: $5,000 to support an educational program for those with cystic fibrosis, their family members and caregivers.
■ Dunklin R-5 School District: $5,000 to provide program support for the Bright Futures basic needs program.
■ Family Forward: $5,000 to provide training for foster care case management staff at the agency’s office in Hillsboro.
■ Finding Grace Ministries: $5,000 to develop space for a drop-in center for homeless or at-risk youth.
■ Good Shepherd Children and Family Services: $5,000 to provide direct financial assistance to families participating in the agency’s pregnancy and parenting support program.
■ Radiant Life Pentecostal Church of God: $5,000 to purchase food and hygiene items for the food pantry.
■ Ride On St. Louis: $5,000 to provide program support for 267 hours of equine-assisted therapy for adults and children with disabilities.
■ Society of St. Vincent de Paul – St. Rose of Lima Conference: $5,000 to provide direct financial assistance to individuals and families in need.
■ Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Fenton: $5,000 to provide direct financial assistance to individuals and families in need.
■ Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish: $5,000 to provide direct financial assistance to individuals and families in need.
