Teddy, a 5-month-old Jack Russell-Shih Tzu mix, has two speeds, says his owner, Laura Scott, formerly of Crystal City.

“He goes from very hyper to asleep very fast,” said Scott, who now lives in St. Louis. “He’s very bouncy.”

Teddy had a rough start to life, but has gotten better.

“When I first adopted him, he had parvo (canine parvovirus),” Scott said. “He had to get over that.”

“Jones Animal Health Clinic (in Crystal City) got him through it,” said Laura Scott’s mother, Peggy Scott of Crystal City, who calls Teddy her granddog.

Laura Scott said Teddy is a friendly puppy.

“He gets along with other pets,” she said.

Peggy Scott said she enjoys puppy-sitting.

“I like to have Teddy around,” she said.
