Pet Spot: Sailor sticks to owner like Velcro

Shay Brewer of Arnold said this photo shows Sailor tired after extended time in their yard.

Sailor, a 2-year-old German shepherd-labradoodle mix, likes to stay close to owner Shay Brewer of Arnold.

“She is the doofiest Velcro puppy you’ll ever meet,” Brewer said. “She’s like glue.”

The photo shows Sailor tuckered out, Brewer said.

“Sailor was outside with us all day while we did yard work, stained the deck (and) power washed,” she said. “When we came inside, the pup was pooped. She hopped on our couch and grabbed the pillow that was next to her and put her 110-pound self in her spot for the night.”

Sailor chases what Brewer throws, but will not necessarily return it.

“She likes to play keep-away,” she said. “She wants you to throw wood, but she won’t bring it back. She loves to play.”

Sailor is friendly to all.

“She loves dogs,” Brewer said. “She loves cats. She loves little ones. She’s just a great girl.”
