Sadie and her blanket

Sadie May is shown here with her beloved blanket in a photo taken this past spring at her Arnold home.

“That’s her blanket she likes to be cuddled up with,” said her owner, Sonja Grose.

Sadie May, a German shepherd-greyhound mix, is 9.

“She loves everybody,” Grose said. “She loves kids. She’ll go up to anybody. She’s a great dog, a very friendly dog. She doesn’t bark.”

Sadie May is playful.

“She likes to play,” Grose said. “She likes to chase a ball. She likes to play tug-of-war using her stuffed toy lamb chop. That’s her favorite toy.”

Sadie May, who weighs about 35 pounds, prefers smaller dogs for company.

“She likes little dogs to play with,” Grose said. “She doesn’t like big dogs.”

Sadie May also likes to travel.

“She loves to go for a bye-bye ride,” Grose said. “She goes crazy (for car rides). She loves to go visit my sister.”
