Carla Strnad of Festus took this photo of Rickey in August 2023. Rickey, a pit bull-Labrador mix, is about 10 years old, yet still extremely energetic, she said.
“He likes to be active,” Strnad said. “He enjoys the outdoors and loves his hikes. He is a fun pet. He likes to chase balls you throw, but you have to chase him to get it back.”
Rickey does not realize how large he is, she said.
“He’s around 100 pounds,” she said. “He thinks he’s a lap dog, as big as he is.”
He is good-natured.
“He has the best personality and is super sweet,” Strnad said. “He loves people. He is a very happy dog.”
