Kelly Shrum of Cedar Hill submitted a photo of her dog, Rosie, giving her a look as she waits for a treat.
Rosie, 5, a purebred boxer, weighs 60 pounds.
“Rosie gets a treat bone after she finishes her dinner, and this is her ‘death stare’ until you get up and get her a treat,” Shrum said. “She’ll just sit there and stare at you until you get up.”
Shrum said she loves the boxer breed.
“She’s our second boxer,” she said. “We got hooked on the first one. They’re the biggest, goofiest pets. They have wonderful personalities. They stay puppies basically their whole lives. They’re great dogs for kids.”
Rosie enjoys chasing tossed objects.
“She loves playing fetch,” Shrum said. “We can throw toys in the house for her all day.”
Shrum keeps Rosie away from her other pet.
“We have a cockatiel, too,” she said. “We try to keep them separate just for fear Rosie will think he’s a toy.”
