Pet Spot: Arnold woman has fond memories of Mushroom the cat

Diana Fogle of Arnold submitted a photo of her cat, Mushroom, for Pet Spot.

Mushroom, a long-haired male black cat, is shown in a 2022 photo taken shortly before her death, owner Diana Fogle said.

“It’s from December 2022,” she said. “She was 2 and died soon after. He accidentally got out at night and got hit by a car.”

She said she fondly remembers Mushroom.

“He was so sweet and tender,” Fogle said. “He was just a love bug. He’d sit with you in your lap. He was well-behaved.

“We have other cats and a dog. He got along with all of them.”

Mushroom could be playful.

“Me and my husband would run around the house with shoestrings,” Fogle said. “It was a competition for the animals to chase the string. It was his favorite game.”

She loved Mushroom.

“He is missed dearly,” she said. “There will never be another cat like him.”
