Suzanne Tinsley of Festus submitted this photo of her 18-year-old cat, Kasey, in a favorite place in the house.
“She likes to snuggle there,” Tinsley said.
She said Kasey has been in the family since she was a kitten.
“When my daughter was really young, we went to a garage sale and they had kittens up for adoption. My daughter asked if we could have one, and I caved. Kasey had the most hair in the bunch.”
Kasey has slowed down over time, Tinsley said.
“She’s pretty calm now. When she was younger, she was pretty rambunctious. Now, she only (makes herself known) when she’s hungry. If I’m on the phone and she wants my attention, she’ll pat my hand with her paw.”
Kasey, a friendly cat, had a special friend for many years, Tinsley said.
“We used to have a Shih-tzu, Sammi. They were best friends. Sammi passed away four or five years ago.”
Kasey is a valued member of the household, Tinsley said.
“She’s just very sweet. She’s a good kitty.”
