In a house with several cats, Oliver, shown in this March 2003 photo, was the leader, said his owner, Carole Sparks of House Springs.
Oliver was 1 1/2 when the photo was taken. He lived to 15 years of age and is remembered fondly, Sparks said.
“He was a short-haired cat, a rescue,” she said. “We later got a kitten, and they got along well. We got two more after that, and Oliver was the patriarch. The others followed him.”
Oliver was “very laid-back and really loving,” Sparks said. “My daughter would put him in a stroller and push him around. He let her.”
