Carol Thomure of Crystal City treasures Daisy, her daughter’s Shih tzu. Thomure’s daughter, Lisa Engle, took this photo of Daisy over the past summer in Thomure’s home.

“You can actually see Daisy smiling with her grandma in this picture,” Engle said. “Speaking of grandmas, Carol Thomure is the best grandma any dog could ever ask for!”

Daisy is 13, but she’s still lively, Engle said.

“She is playful,” Engle said. “She is full of energy. She’s 13, but she acts like a 1-year-old puppy. She has so much personality and facial expressions.”

Daisy has a favorite game.

“You have to let her chase the laser light,” Engle said. “She loves chasing the laser light every night, which I believe is what has kept her so young.”

Daisy loves to be held, Engle added.

“She is a lap dog. She likes to sleep in your lap,” Engle said.

She said the entire family appreciates Daisy.

“She is a blessing to us all,” Engle said.
