Steve Hobbs of Imperial submitted this photo of his son Kevin’s dog, Maggie, from a couple years ago during an Independence Day weekend.
Maggie, 4, is an American pocket bully, an American bulldog-pit bull mix, he said.
Maggie was happy to find a friendly face during what was a trying time for her, Hobbs said.
“My son was on a float trip and asked me to stop by and spend some time with her because she might be nervous about the fireworks in the area,” he said. “She was, so I brought her home with me and showed her appreciation.
“She put her head on my shoulder. She gets nervous around all the loud banging.”
He said Maggie has a great personality.
“She’s a wonderful dog,” he said.
